Missions in Mexico
Frequent trips are made to Mexico, taking food, bibles, clothes, shoes, toys, etc. that have been donated. Items are delivered to orphanages in Rio Bravo, Linares and Nuevo Leon.
The “Big Feed”, is held in Rio Bravo each December to feed between 400 and 600 people a plate of chicken, tortillas, pico de gallo, beans, and a cup of purified water. Gift bags are given to the children and the gospel message is preached. There are always new Christians added to the church and many requests for prayers.
The orphanage in Rio Bravo, Casa Hogar Niños de El Shadai, is partially supported by the tithes and fundraiser money from the Crossroads Children's Ministry. The money is used for shoes, school supplies, etc. for the children in the orphanage.
In the past, Crossroads has helped build a church building, a children’s building, homes, and a play gym set in the Rio Bravo and Matamoras areas of Northern Mexico. These trips were adult and youth summer mission trips.
Crossroads Church also provides a storage building in Harlingen, TX, in order to have items available to meet needs in Mexico when they arise.
We welcome those who have a heart for missions to join and serve in this ministry. (Travel to Mexico now requires a passport.) For more information about the Missions in Mexico, contact Linda Edgett at (940)433-5311.
